|✵||The Hearth Room
The hearth room is the incubation site for wher eggs. For the vast majority of the time it sits cold and quiet, but on once an egg is given to a candidate, it is taken from its mother and transferred here. From that point onwards, it is up to that candidate to care for it.
At Sirocco, the eggs are placed in larger versions of firelizard egg pots, filled with sand and placed before this massive hearth to warm and harden. Each candidate must turn his or her own pot, and if the egg does not hatch, it is often assumed that the candidate didn’t take good enough care of his or her charge. When the eggs begin to rock, the candidates are gathered and they empty their egg pots before the hearth.
